Mt. Calvary Baptist Church – Reopening Plan

After much prayer for guidance, consultation with our staff, deacons, and medical professionals, we are releasing this reopening plan.  Please note that the plan is subject to be revised at any time due to changing circumstances.  We will have the latest information available on our website (www.calvarywv.com)

We have sought to formulate a plan that will protect the health and well-being of our church family and the community at large.  We are seeking to comply with all governmental recommendations.  We are also striving to offer a meaningful time of worship with the minimum of distractions.  Please pray for continued wisdom as we seek to implement this plan.

Please read carefully the following points in their entirety:

1. We plan on resuming in-person worship services on June 7, 2020
2. The online service time will be 10:00 am beginning June 7 and will continue after we resume in-person services
3. The previous week’s message is broadcast on the radio on WCHS AM 580, FM 96.5 and 104.5 Sunday at 9:30 am
4. Sunday we will offer multiple worship times in our church facilities:

•      8:45-9:30 am in the Sanctuary, for persons age 55 and older
•     10:00-10:45 am in the Theater
•     10:00 am online service – livenow.calvarywv.com
•     11:15 – Noon in the Sanctuary

5. There will be neither nursery provided nor children’s ministries. Families will sit together, and all ages are welcome at the 2^nd and 3^rd service times
6. There will be “Busy Bags” for children to have during the service (at 10:00 or 11:15) to both keep them entertained and to help with their worship
7. Seating will be adjusted to maintain proper social distancing
8. Worshipers will wear masks. Please bring your own as only a limited supply can be provided by the church
9. Until further notice we will refrain from handshaking and other physical contact
10. Touch-less hand sanitizing stations will be available
11. There will be one way entrances and one way exits
12. The door will open 15 minutes before each service time
13. The building will be sanitized after each service so you will be entering a clean space for worship
14. If the attendance exceeds our reduced capacity and overflow, a worship area will be provided in the Gym
15. Offerings will be by use of a drop-in basket
16. Until further notice we will not be meeting on Sunday or Wednesday evenings
17. Until further notice all life groups will be meeting online only
