Joseph The Unexpected Journey

Joseph The Unexpected Journey

Begins September 13, 2026

There are places in life we choose to go—and then there are places where we simply find ourselves.

Joseph knew something about that.

As a young man, God gave Joseph dreams that seemed to point toward an extraordinary future. But the journey toward that future looked nothing like Joseph could have imagined.

He went from his father’s home to a pit. From the pit he was sold into slavery. From slavery he was falsely accused. And from there, he went to prison.

Genesis 39:20 contains a simple phrase that almost seems to summarize the unexpected turns of Joseph’s life:

“And he was there in the prison.”

There.

Joseph was somewhere he never planned to be. Somewhere he certainly didn’t want to be. And, perhaps most troubling of all, somewhere that didn’t seem to fit what God had promised.

But the very next verse changes everything:

“But the LORD was with Joseph.”

Joseph was there—but God was there too.

And that is the truth we are going to explore in a new series called Joseph: The Unexpected Journey.

We’ll follow Joseph from Canaan to the pit, from Potiphar’s house to the prison, and eventually from the prison to Pharaoh’s palace. Along the way, we’ll discover that even when Joseph couldn’t see what God was doing, God was still at work.

Where you are is never outside of where God is working..

But God is still there.

Join me as we walk together through the remarkable life of Joseph in Joseph: The Unexpected Journey.
