I Timothy 4:12
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers
in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity”.
Hello, my name is Tim Britton and I am the youth pastor here at
Mount Calvary Baptist. Our goal here in the Mount Calvary Teen
ministry is to connect teens to a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. We share Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as stated
in the Bible. We also desire to lead the teens in the area of
service to God and to be a light in our community. Not only is it
important to share Christ inside the walls of the church, but it is
equally important to share God’s Word outside the church walls. I
would like to invite you to come to one of our services and check us
out as we seek to have fun hanging out with each another, singing
praises to our God, and learning from God’s Holy Word through
lessons taught by myself and many other awesome youth volunteers.
Teen Ministries:
(Evangelism Team) - come and join our teens as we journey into the
streets of Charleston to witness to others and show the love of God
in practical ways. Some of the ways we work in the communities of
Charleston are…
•Handing out tracts
•Witnessing
•Raking leaves
•Shut-in visitation
•Teens-4-Needs (Helping shut-ins, elderly, and others)
We have a variety of ministries teens can get involved in. They are…
Drama/Skit Teams – We love to share the Gospel of Christ
through various dramas and skits that will make you laugh but also
warm your heart as God speaks through this ministry.
Camps – Our desire is to provide all teens with an
opportunity to experience God’s direction in their lives by giving
them a fun filled time in a church based camp. Middle school teens,
grades 7-9, attend a camp best suited for their age group while High
school teens, grades 10-12, will attend mission’s based camps.
Music – Get involved with our music director whether it is in
the adult praise team or teen music ministry. Our teen worship
leader leads the teens in an energetic and exciting
worship experience.
Dare2Share Conferences – Travel with us to Columbus, Ohio as
we learn from Greg Stier and the D2S team on how to become better
witnesses to our family, friends, classmates, and community. It is a
weekend you will never forget.
Fun, Food, and Friends – We like to provide many ways to have
fun, hang out, and get to know one another. Along with a large teen
facility that consists of a large size gymnasium for basketball,
volleyball, skrit ball (dodge ball on steroids) and teen game room,
we also like to take trips to amusement parks (Carowinds, Kings
Island, Cedar Point), play Chaos vs. Control (a more intense game of
capture the flag), Youth Lock-Ins at the YMCA with other church teen
groups, bowling, paint ball, and many other types of fun games that
help us to laugh, smile, and have fun with each other.
